Breaking ground on November 22, 2023, in the Zhuhai Economic and Technological Development Zone, the base was magnificently completed and commenced operations on June 20, 2025, after 19 months of meticulous development. With a total investment of RMB 2 billion, the modern pharmaceutical campus spans 180 acres (approximately 120,000 m²) and features a total floor area of 110,000 m². Its expansive scope includes three sterile cephalosporin API workshops, one sterile enzyme inhibitor workshop, one general chemical drug workshop, alongside office and QC centers, warehouses, and an environmental protection center. Upon reaching full capacity, the project is projected to achieve an annual output value of RMB 2.5 billion with a comprehensive production capacity of approximately 2,000 tons/year. Chairman Cai Haishan of United Laboratories stated that the new base will align with international standards and target global markets. Through full-team participation and lifecycle management, it will refine process and product quality monitoring systems, committed to delivering stable, high-quality cephalosporin APIs for domestic and international users.
